Our second admission-free variety show of the season. We ask that you acquire a free "ticket" so that we can plan for how many are in attendance. Our Spring Artist Showcase features three new performers supported by our house band A WALK IN THE PARK, led by troubador Sonofmel (John Adler) on Guitar, Randy Wydra on Bass, and Michael Pilhofer
This is a free concert for all. Please come give these artists a warm, Northwoods reception. You won't be disappointed!
Some of our planned artists for this event include:
Sonofmel: Our Showcase emcee. After 20 years of wandering, from Baku to Berkeley, Anchorage to Ankara, Sonofmel brings the foreign home to the familiar, piling prodigal wanderings and fistfuls of chords into spoken word, stories, and song. Sonofmel is also a volunteer board member of The Park Theater.
Buffy Riley: A mother, wife, registered nurse, grandmother, substitute teacher, and a writer/performer of essays. Having grown up in Southern California, she has lived in Hayward for the last 28 years. There were many roads taken prior to the last 28 years.
Although her family may not always be in agreement with her take on things, they agree that she spins a good story, and have agreed to just let her do what she does.
TrueGrass: a Bluegrass band in the old style, covering material by the classic bands of old with reverence, but also adapting modern material and originals to the bluegrass idiom.
TrueGrass! features Tom playing guitar, clawhammer banjo and fronting lead vocals. Jed Malischke plays banjo and dobro,
with Bruce Qualey on bass, and Carol McDowall on fiddle.
Fishlicker Improv!: The local improv troupe, invites you to an evening of shenanigans. Performances consist of faced-paced scenes that are made on the spot from audience suggestions. This "short form" of improv was made famous by the TV show "Who's Line is it Anyway".
Featured performers are subject to change
Please show up on time! We can not guarantee your seat after the show has started. Handicapped Accessible seating is available, please contact us for more information.
