Winter Artist Showcase

Our Winter Artist Showcase features our house band led by Sonofmel in our final of four Artist Showcases scheduled for 2025. We’ll be back in 2026 and we look forward to seeing you all here again!!

This is a FREE concert for all. Please come give these artists a warm, Northwoods reception. You won't be disappointed!

Planned artists for this event include:

Sonofmel: Our Showcase emcee. After 20 years of wandering, from Baku to Berkeley, Anchorage to Ankara, Sonofmel brings the foreign home to the familiar, piling prodigal wanderings and fistfuls of chords into spoken word, stories, and song. Sonofmel is also a volunteer board member of The Park Theater.

"Is it music or poetry? Talking blues? Whatever it is, it may be the most interesting folk from Minnesota since Dylan." --Keweenaw Music

Jeffrey Williams:  Williams is a young emerging gifted spoken word poet who has written over 2000 poems as part of his reflective practice. Without reward in mind he speaks from the heart and is clearly a conduit for the voiceless. Jeffrey honors the gift of each poem he is given by giving it a voice that both contains a beat and a forward movement. He immediately draws the listener in, opening our hearts to the messages he intents us to receive. And we are moved as a result.

Mood Medication:
Mood Medication is a vibrant rock trio hailing from Milwaukee, WI. Crafting energetic and relatable tunes, their music is meant to uplift and connect with fans. Inspired by the songs from their debut album, Jumpstart My Broken Heart, and recently released self-titled EP, they are setting the stage for the best music yet to be released throughout this year. The band consists of Broderick Lipusch on guitar and vocals, Austin White on bass and backup vocals, and Tyler Schmidt on drums. Being a younger band comes with many challenges but they are excited for this opportunity "...to perform in a great theater to showcase our talents." Join them as they transform today's alternative rock music with their own authentic tunes.

J Streitz:  Former Mill City resident, singer/songwriter Jason Streitz currently resides in Shell Lake, Wisconsin where he lives with his family and operates a small pottery business, art gallery and live music listening room out of an old one-room 1921 schoolhouse. Rural living has afforded Streitz a new perspective.  While playing bass in several Minneapolis bands spanning over two decades, Jason Streitz quietly wrote country, bluegrass and folk songs in his spare time. Although classic country and folk music remain foundational in Streitz’ songwriting, he’s clearly not afraid to surrender to the pull of a new song in any direction.
